Yesterday’s omelet

Posted by Jim Parker under Home Renovation Guide

Seriously, folks. Back to gardening.

This morning my long-suffering husband informed me that we had with real, local eggs for our Saturday omelet. (If you don’t know why he’s long-suffering, you haven’t read this morning’s post. It was supposed to be yesterday’s post, but some cyberspace hiccup delayed it.)

In honor of the eggs, I went to the basement for fresh vegies. (Yes, basement. More on this soon.) There’s not a lot to choose from at this season, but I did find enough fresh chard and carrots to do the trick. Along with a grating of jarlsburg cheese and a sprinkling of sunflower seeds, they made a truly luscious omlete.

Of course, the eggs were much (much) better than even the cage-free ones we can get at the store. Whenever I

There is nobody who has not heard about the most photographic place of the world; Taj Mahal located in Agra, India. Well, the second most photographic place in the world after this is found in Holland known as Keukenhof. This was said by the Eastman Kodak Co. and when they can claim something like this I am sure that is not wrong. The famous Keukenhof Dutch Gardens are simply breathtaking and the most colorful place you can ever go to. The same can be said about the history of this place as well; too colorful.

The gardens of and flower parks of Keukenhof are full of concrete water fountains and attractive bulbs. Turnips got replaced by tulips and hyacinths have taken the place of the herbs in the garden. Millions of people come to Keukenhof Flower Park and garden every single year and most of them love visiting in the spring season.

And

Posted by Katy Wally under Home Improvement News

Recently, Craftster.org held a contest to celebrate Earth Day, April 22. The challenge was to create a project with an obvious Earth theme or tribute. Several wonderful entries were posted. Here are the top five winners, in order:

1. Patchwork Planet The winner was this big beautiful stuffed planet earth, made with fabric scraps and lots of love. If you’d like to make your own, you’re in luck! A tutorial is included.

2. Oasis A pair of shoes, inspired by the rebirth of Spring and made from stones, moss, twigs and silk flowers, came in second place.

3. Reusable Shopping Bag The third place winner created a reusable shopping bag that reminds us that Mars is “not a great alternative”.

4.

Spring Cleaning Means Spring Savings

Posted by Helen Cooper under Home Remodeling Tips

Along with spring comes the annual spring cleaning. So when you’re conquering cluttered closets and attacking ancient attics, remember that they shouldn’t be the only things on the to-do list: your heating and cooling system needs attention too. Since proper up-keep can increase a system’s efficiency and therefore decrease electricity bills, cleaning your system can save money.

Preventative maintenance inspections are the best way to reveal air leaks, rust, corrosion and dust build-up in your air conditioning system. A properly maintained unit will have increased efficiency and can decrease energy bills because it’s not working as hard to keep you comfortable. In this
